Life must go on, psychologists say.
War destroys all security that has been generated. Moreover, not only material aspects suffer, so to speak — infrastructure, career, home, financial stability. The inner world also suffers — self-realization, habits, and the like, Khronika.info reports with reference to RBC-Ukraine.
Psychologist and Gestalt therapist Diana Bober told in her Instagram how each of us can now at least regain the lost feeling safety.
Safety in space
Expert says it's important now to do everything possible to make the place where you are as much as possible yours.
«This corner of the bomb shelter or this bed — belong only to you. You can negotiate who sits where during lunch, where exactly your things are, and the like. Here you can build stability with your own hands», — the psychologist explains.
Things
Try to give value to the things you managed to take from the house — my slippers, my jacket, my laptop — they are with me, my dear ones.
«It was very important for me to get a cup from which only I would drink. And I am very happy every evening when I smear my cream. You can awaken security through things», — says Diana.
People
Now for sure this is not the time to continue relationships with toxic people. The psychologist advises to pay more attention to those people with whom you feel good.
«Get off the emotional swing, this will already add 100500 to the feeling of security. It is important to form relationships in which you will feel «at home». Even if a siren is heard and rockets are flying. In this world, there is someone who is glad to see you, with whom it is warm and cozy. Keep your focus on safe, supportive relationships», — expert advises.
Information security
One of the most important rules: try to focus on positive news.
You don't have to watch thousands of videos of our cities being shelled. Pay better attention to what positive results our military has, how much assistance other countries provide to Ukraine, how courageously and unitedly our entire people are holding on.
In a word, filter the channels of information and delete those that undermine your security .
Rituals
The psychologist also advises, if possible, to return the usual rituals to your life — daily routine, walking, meals, sports and the like.
«Anything that was an important part of your life and created security — can be restored at least in miniature. There should be certain anchor points in your day that you can build on. No matter how hard it was. Regimen, discipline, habits — create security within your life«, the expert explains.
