MOSCOW, Mar 14 Athletes of the Russian national team will temporarily not take part in international tournaments under the auspices of the International Judo Federation (IJF) and the European Judo Union (EJU), according to the official website of the Russian Judo Federation. Earlier, the IJF canceled all tournaments in Russia due to the aggravation of the situation in Ukraine. At the same time, the organization allowed athletes from Russia to take part in international tournaments in a neutral status. «We inform you that the Russian Judo Federation took this temporary step due to the current foreign policy situation. Under the current conditions, the access of the national team to most countries where international competitions are held is essential difficult, in addition, the Russian Judo Federation has reason to fear for the safety of Russian athletes,» the report says.
