“For more than 20 years we have not been working to quit overnight their just cause and stop informing you about events in our regions. Site blocking does not mean that we give up. We do not refuse honest news, and the most important thing for us is to be with you, dear readers, ”added the editors of the publication.
Caucasian Knot is a Russian publication founded by Memorial in 2001 that covers news from Chechnya, Dagestan, Ingushetia, as well as Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Grigory Shvedov remained the editor-in-chief for 21 years. During this time, the editorial office received several awards, including the award of the Union of Journalists of Russia «For protecting the interests of the professional community».
In November 2021, the Ministry of Justice entered the publication in the register of media outlets — «foreign agents».
