Channel One editor Marina Ovsyannikova resigned due to disagreement with editorial policy

The editor of Channel One, Marina Ovsyannikova, resigned from the channel. Her lawyer Sergei Badamshin announced this on the telegram channel.

The reason for the decision was Ovsyannikova's disagreement with the editorial policy of the channel.

On the evening of March 14, during the live broadcast of a news release on Channel One, the journalist ran out in the frame with the poster “Stop the war! Don't believe the propaganda, they lie to you here.» Ovsyannikova was immediately detained.

The next day, the court fined her 30,000 rubles for organizing an uncoordinated rally (Part 2 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The reason for the protocol was not a live action, but a video message recorded in front of it.

Baza claimed that the Investigative Committee had launched an investigation against Ovsyannikova on a recently published article on the dissemination of deliberately false information about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces (Article 207.3 CC), which implies up to 15 years in prison.
