
MOSCOW, Mar 18 Norway's Tiril Eckhoff wins the final sprint race Biathlon World Cup in Holmenkollen, Norway. Eckhoff covered the distance of 7.5 kilometers in 21 minutes 28.3 seconds, with one miss. Second place was taken by Austrian Lisa Teresa Hauser (lag — 7 seconds; 0 misses). The third was the representative of Norway, Marte Olsbu-Røiseland (+9.4; 1 miss). The race was originally scheduled for Thursday, but it was postponed to Friday due to weather conditions. Russian and Belarusian biathletes do not take part in competitions in Holmenkollen. Earlier, the executive committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended that sports federations not allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete due to the aggravation of the situation in Ukraine. After that, the International Biathlon Union (IBU) suspended Russian athletes from participating in competitions. The Russian Biathlon Union announced that it would defend the rights of athletes in court. The men's sprint race will take place later on Friday. The World Cup stage in Holmenkollen will end on Sunday.
