There is not enough tetrapack on the market.
Supplies began to fail in Russia to juice and milk shops. This is attributed to the lack of containers for storing products, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to RBC-Ukraine.
This was stated by representatives of two retailers and a major food manufacturer.
According to according to the publication, the market lacks tetrapack — packaging consists of cardboard, polyethylene and foil.
Market participants also complained about difficulties in purchasing films due to a shortage of raw materials.
In particular, one of the major manufacturers said that the company is considering alternative packaging options for milk and juice, in particular, even cans.
At the same time, «Vkusvill» — a network representative explains the difficulties by restrictions on the supply of imported raw materials.
In addition, in the X5 Group («Pyaterochka», «Perekrestok», «Karusel» ) stated that there were no interruptions in supplies, however, the retailer is also looking for alternative suppliers of packaging materials.
The representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade confirmed the increased demand for milk packaging to the Russian Mass Media, but said that manufacturers have enough stocks of raw materials and materials.
It is indicated that there are no difficulties with flexible packaging, corrugated packaging and glass containers yet, but they may appear if foreign owners of production facilities stop the work of factories in the Russian Federation.
However, the lack of packaging materials in the Russian Federation still led to rising prices. Thus, the transport corrugated box has risen in price by 30% since February, polypropylene film — 100% Carton Salt — 122%, packaging polyethylene film — by 89%.
