Executive Director of the Russian Luge Federation ( FSSR) Stanislav Tyurin said that the appeal filed with the International Luge Federation (FIL) against the removal of Russian representatives from participation in international competitions was accepted for consideration, but the timing of the verdict is still unknown. On March 2, the FIL executive committee suspended all Russian athletes, coaches and officials from participation in competitions under the auspices of the organization until further notice. «On March 16, the Russian Luge Federation filed an appeal with the International Luge Federation against the removal of our athletes, coaches and officials,» said Tyurin. «FIL lawyers told us that the letter was accepted for consideration and the Court of Appeal began its work, but, unfortunately, the organization’s documents do not indicate the time interval and the exact timing of the decision «.
