The prosecutor's office of the Kemerovo region began an inspection at the Listvyazhnaya mine due to «excess of carbon dioxide» at one of the mining sites in Belovo. This was reported by the press service of the department.
“An excess of carbon dioxide was recorded in one of the sections of the mine working during the planned repair and restoration work during the reverse switching of the main mine ventilation fan,” the prosecutor’s office specified.

Accident at a mine in Kuzbass
According to RIA Novosti, citing a source in emergency services, the total there were 141 people in the mine, they were evacuated. According to preliminary data, 12 people were hospitalized, all the victims are conscious, TASS reports.
In November 2021, an explosion occurred in Listvyazhnaya. As suggested by the prosecutor's office, detonated methane could be the cause. The wife of the deceased miner said that a few days before the accident, the miners themselves extinguished the fire in the mine, and «methane had gone off scale there for a long time.» As a result of the accident, 51 people died — 46 miners and five rescuers.
The next day, the mayor of Prokopyevsk, Vyacheslav Starchenko, was dismissed, because during the accident at the mine he arranged a celebration of his first day in office. Nine people were arrested in the case of the death of the miners: Rostekhnadzor inspectors, the director of the mine and his deputy, the head of the mine section, the owner of the mine, the chief engineer of the mine, the general director and technical director of the SDS-Ugol company.
