MOSCOW, March 23, Alexander Sergeev. Head coach of the Russian national football team Valery Karpin expressed hope that the decision to remove the team from international competitions would be cancelled. The Russian team is holding a training camp in Novogorsk from March 21 to March 27. Initially, the Russian team on these dates was supposed to take part in the play-off tournament for the right to take part in the final part of the World Cup in Qatar. «The task of the training camp is to remember the requirements. Players forget a lot after the holidays. The last time they gathered was in November. Now we are thinking about the final day. We would like the youth team to work with us together and understand our requirements. In what format this will take place is not yet clear. We all hope that someday we will be returned. We must be fully armed, «Karpin told reporters. Previously, FIFA and UEFA has issued a joint statement, according to which Russian teams and clubs have been suspended from participation in all international competitions for an indefinite period due to the situation in Ukraine. The RFU filed appeals with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the decisions of the Bureau of the FIFA Council and the UEFA Executive Committee. On March 18, CAS denied the RFU's request to suspend the FIFA ban on the participation of Russian teams in tournaments under the auspices of the organization until the decision is fully appealed.
