NATO will not send troops despite Poland's initiative.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg commented on Poland's initiative to send a peacekeeping mission to Ukraine. According to him, the alliance will not send its troops, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to RBC-Ukraine.
«NATO is not involved in the conflict, we continue to support Ukraine, but we are not party to the conflict… NATO will not send troops to Ukraine… It is important to understand that it is necessary to prevent a possible war between NATO and Russia», — Stoltenberg noted.
At the same time, he did not evaluate the possibility of repeating the mission in Iraq, when some NATO member countries formed a coalition without involving the alliance itself.
