MOSCOW, 23 Mar. Canadian journalist Beverly Smith wrote on her Twitter that she was delighted at the absence of Russian athletes at the World Figure Skating Championships. The tournament began on Wednesday in Montpellier, France.
"No triple axels, but what a normal tournament in women's singles compared to the crazy drama at the Olympics. Let's breathe a sigh of relief: there are no Russian athletes or judges. Happy about it", — wrote Smith.
The Russians are missing international competitions in connection with the decision of the International Skating Union to impose a temporary ban on their participation.
