MOSCOW, Mar 24 To American Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Jorge Masvidal faces up to 15 years in prison for beating another American fighter, Colby Covington, according to MMA Fighting. It was previously reported that Masvidal and Covington had a fight. The incident occurred on Monday evening, when Covington was leaving the institution near which Masvidal was waiting for him. In the video published by the portal after the fight, Covington is standing on the street, surrounded by police. It is noted that law enforcement officials have drawn up a protocol. At present, Masvidal has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm, as well as with intentional infliction of bodily harm. If the American is found guilty, he faces up to 15 years in prison, and a fine of 10 thousand dollars is also possible. The fighters were friends in the past, they trained together in the American Top Team gym. In early March, Covington defeated Masvidal in the main event of UFC 272 in Las Vegas (USA). The welterweight fight lasted all five rounds and ended with the victory of the 34-year-old Covington by unanimous decision.
