MOSCOW, Mar 23 The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) on its website confirmed receipt of a statement from the Russian Football Union (RFU) of interest in hosting the 2028 and 2032 European Championships. On Wednesday, RFU President Alexander Dyukov said that Russia is ready to host the 2028 or 2032 European Championships. Member of the executive committee of the RFU Sergey Anokhin reported that the Russian side would submit a double application to UEFA to host tournaments. In addition, the football associations of England, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Scotland and Wales submitted an application of interest in co-hosting the European Championship 2028. The Italian Football Federation claims to host Euro 2032, and the Turkish Football Federation has expressed a desire to host the main European football tournament among national teams in 2028 and 2032. The elections of the host countries of the European Championships will take place in September 2023.
