Sergei Maly (63rd minute) scored among the winners, and Moldovan defender Vyacheslav Posmac (79) also scored an own goal. The hosts scored Ion Nicolaescu (45+1). The return game will be held in Nur-Sultan on March 29. The winner of the round will play in the League of Nations in the 2022/23 season in Group 3 of League C with the teams of Belarus, Azerbaijan and Slovakia. The losing team will get into group 1 of League D to the teams of Latvia, Andorra and Liechtenstein. In another match, the teams of Estonia and Cyprus played in a draw in Tallinn — 0:0.
