The Khamovnichesky District Court of Moscow canceled the suspended sentence before the expiration of the probationary period for director Kirill Serebrennikov and expunged his conviction in the Seventh Studio case. This follows from the case card on the court website.

In June 2020, the Meshchansky District Court sentenced Serebrennikov to three years probation and also fined him 800 thousand rubles. Other defendants in the Seventh Studio case, Yuri Itin and Alexei Malobrodsky, were given three and two years of probation, respectively, and both were fined 200,000 rubles.
They were found guilty of fraud on an especially large scale (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code). The court also satisfied the civil suit against them and ruled to recover 129 million rubles from three people.
According to investigators, they stole 133 million rubles allocated from the state budget for the theater project «Platform». Three examinations were carried out in the case, the latter revealed an overestimation of the costs of the «Platform» by 2.5 times. All defendants in the case pleaded not guilty.
