Now our estimate — about $120 billion. If, taking into account military infrastructure and other civilian expenses, then more than $270 billion», he explained.
The Prime Minister specified that a register of lost property has been created for a detailed calculation, part of it will be work through «Dіyu», and each person will be able to register the losses inflicted on his household.
«We will have an accurate, almost accounting record of all damages caused. This is the standard approach for cases like this», — noted the head of government.
He added that the second component — this is a calculation of the losses of the Ukrainian economy. «This is the fall in GDP for the months we will continue fighting. This is lost profit and non-invested investments of our enterprises. According to our calculations, this amount is more than $290 billion,” Shmihal said.
According to him, the third part is the losses that the state has suffered due to a decrease in GDP in the future. «Before the war, we had plans for how our economy would grow. Now the enterprises that should bring revenue to the state have been destroyed. Therefore, after the war, of course, there will be a significant adjustment», the head of the Ukrainian government stated.
According to the State Statistics Service, in 2021 Ukraine GDP grew by 3.4% after a decline of 3.8% in 2020, its nominal volume amounted to about $200 billion.
