Washington, USAMOSCOW, Mar 29 The Ukrainian crisis has accelerated the process of weakening American hegemony, including the dollar. Columnist Mehmet Ali Güller expressed this opinion in an article for the Turkish edition of Cumhuriyet. There are no guarantees left for money in Western banks, property and assets in Europe and the US. The West, as can be seen from the Ukrainian crisis, can encroach on all this, ignoring the law, the author of the material states. For those who fell under sanctions, this state of affairs forces them to take action, look for new ways of trading and generally build a new financial system, the article notes. The Ukrainian crisis, the author emphasizes, is a clash over how the «new world order» will be built. And this clash is a struggle of currencies, not weapons. At present, the world has entered a period when the dominance of the dollar will weaken, national currencies will become important in trade and alternative financial systems will begin to be introduced. This is a process where US and Western sanctions will boomerang on them, Güller concludes.Publico: US began self-destruction of dollar hegemonyEarlier, Vladimir Putin said that Russia would now supply gas to countries from the list of unfriendly states for rubles. The President instructed the Central Bank and the government within a week to determine the procedure for transactions with Europe in rubles. At the same time, Putin said that the country would continue to sell fuel in volumes and at prices fixed in earlier contracts, since the state values its reputation. On the morning of February 24, Russia launched a military special operation to demilitarize Ukraine. According to the Ministry of Defense, the armed forces strike only at military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops. With the support of the Russian military, the DPR and LPR groups are developing an offensive. But the occupation of Ukraine is out of the question, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized. In response, Western countries imposed multiple sanctions. A number of companies announced their withdrawal from the Russian market and the closure of production facilities in the country. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that Western companies that refuse to work with Russia did so under enormous pressure, but Russia will solve all the problems with the economy that the West creates for it.
