File photoPARIS, Mar 30The Dutch Forum voor Democratie party said it would not listen to Volodymyr Zelensky's online speech in the Dutch parliament on Thursday, as it considers it inappropriate to make a «half-saint» out of the Ukrainian leader and take his side in the conflict based on emotions .It is planned that on Thursday Zelensky will deliver a video message to the House of Representatives (the lower house of the Dutch Parliament). The Dutch party Forum for Democracy stated that it would not be present at the speech, and also did not intend to participate in the subsequent debate. The Brits lashed out at Zelensky for trying to provoke a third world war»It is naive and even absurd to see Zelensky as a half-saint. He recently banned eleven (!) political parties, including the country's largest opposition party. Critical TV channels were banned, while the rest of the TV channels were recently forced broadcast propaganda 24 hours a day,» the Dutch parliamentarians noted. They recalled that Zelensky appears in very dubious financial cases, for example, in the Panama Papers. In addition, his army often poses with Nazi symbols. «And recently, horrifying acts of violence against seemingly helpless Russian prisoners of war by, most likely, Ukrainian troops have also leaked to social networks. All this makes his video speech in our parliament, to put it mildly, inappropriate,» the party believes. Forum for Democracy believe that taking a side in a conflict on the basis of emotions and personal sympathy or under the influence of speech is «completely inappropriate». In addition, the Dutch parliament is «not a platform for unilateral statements.» As the statement emphasizes, Zelensky's speech in the Dutch parliament runs counter to more than 170 years of democratic tradition: never before has a head of a foreign state spoken in the House of Representatives. «There is a good reason for this: democratic decision-making in the Dutch parliament must take place completely independently, without foreign influence and foreign interests,» the party noted. Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24. President Vladimir Putin called its goal «the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years.» For this, according to him, it is planned to carry out «demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine», to bring to justice all war criminals responsible for «bloody crimes against civilians» in Donbass. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces strike only at the military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops and, as of March 25, they have completed the main tasks of the first stage — they have significantly reduced the combat potential of Ukraine. The main goal in the Russian military department was called the liberation of Donbass. French people angered by Zelensky's request
