MOSCOW, March 30 Metallurg Magnitogorsk beat Avangard Omsk in seventh match of the second round of the playoffs of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) and reached the semifinals of the Gagarin Cup. The meeting in Magnitogorsk ended with a score of 4:0 (2:0, 1:0, 1:0). The pucks were scored by Andrey Chibisov (3rd minute), Philippe Maillet (16), Josh Curry (23) and Grigory Dronov (59). Metallurg's goalie Vasily Koshechkin saved 41 shots and had the first clean sheet in this Gagarin Cup. He tried to block Arseny Gritsyuk's shot. The score in the series to four wins was 4-3 in favor of Metallurg. In the finals of the Eastern Conference, the Magnitogorsk club will meet with the Chelyabinsk «Tractor». In the other semi-final of the Gagarin Cup, Moscow CSKA and St. Petersburg SKA will play.
