Serokhvostov won the 10 km sprint race at the Russian Biathlon Championship, which takes place in Tyumen. The victory in the sprint was won by Anton Smolsky from Belarus, the second place was taken by his compatriot Dmitry Lazovsky.
"Skiing did not greatly affect the RBU Cup, we performed well, but the Belarusians were stronger. They overtook us. Today I wanted to take revenge. They took all the gold, leaving us nothing. Today we took them, all three. It's nice to be the champion of Russia, of course", — said Serokhvostov.
The champion of Russia also spoke about his condition and added that he was glad to see the fans in the stands again. “I would like to have more races, of course, but at the end of the season you get tired. Your mentality can’t cope. Sometimes you can freak out at the turn and the track. You have to cope with this, calm down and run on. Of course, there were more people in France, but there will also be a lot of people here at the weekend. I am glad to see people in the stands, the races are completely different,» Serokhvostov added. Later on Wednesday, the women's sprint race will take place. The Russian Championship will end on April 4th.
