NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg indicated that Russia is not withdrawing, but only moving troops in order to regroup and strengthen the offensive in the Donbas region, reports Chronicle.info with reference to the UBR.
«We have heard recent statements that Russia will curtail military operations around Kyiv and in northern Ukraine. But Russia has repeatedly lied about its intentions. So Russia can only be judged by its actions, not by its words. According to our intelligence, Russian units are not withdrawing, but are moving,” Stoltenberg said at a press conference in Brussels.
According to him, Russia continues to put pressure on Kyiv and other cities. Stoltenberg noted that additional offensive actions can be expected, «bringing even more suffering».
In this regard, he called on the Russian Federation «to put an end to this senseless war, to withdraw all its troops and conscientiously negotiate».
Recall that on March 29, after the completion of a round of negotiations between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations in Istanbul, the head of the latter, Vladimir Medinsky, said that the Russian army would «dramatically reduce» offensive in the Chernihiv and Kiev directions.
