Biathlete Tomshin won the mass start at the Russian Championships in Tyumen


TYUMEN, Apr 2 Vasily Tomshin became the winner of the race from a total start of 15 km at the Russian Biathlon Championship in Tyumen. Tomshin covered the distance in 39 minutes 39.3 seconds and made 2 misses. The second place was taken by Maxim Tsvetkov (lag — 0.9 seconds; 1 miss). The third was Nikita Porshnev (+31.3; 1). Athletes from Belarus also took part in the race, the best of them was Nikita Lobastov, who took sixth place (+52.4; 4). Evgeny Garanichev took 17th place (+2.00.1; 4), Karim Khalili became 18th (+2.06.2; 6), Anton Babikov — 23rd (+2.31.3; 5). Alexander Loginov, Daniil Serokhvostov and Eduard Latypov did not take part in the race. The Russian Championship will end on April 3rd. Earlier, the International Biathlon Union (IBU) suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from their competitions against the backdrop of the situation in Ukraine, on Tuesday the IBU suspended the membership of the Russian Biathlon Union and the Belarusian Biathlon Federation.
