MOSCOW, Apr 3 The Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) still maintains contact with a large number of partners among European countries that are ready to cooperate and implement joint projects, said the head of the ROC Stanislav Pozdnyakov in his Telegram channel. At the end of February, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended that international sports federations not allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in competitions because of the situation in Ukraine. A number of international federations followed this recommendation. «Recently, we have been talking a lot about the integration of the Olympic movement. Through the diplomatic activities of the Russian Olympic Committee, we see that it is far from being as united in its position as the Western media try to present it. Despite everything, we still have many partners even in European countries who are ready to cooperate, implement joint programs and projects,» Pozdnyakov wrote. «It is important to note that we continue to maintain constant contacts with international federations, including with regard to selection for the next Olympic Games. In addition, sport has an important humanitarian mission, and we remind our foreign partners and counterparts of this at every contact,» he concluded.
