Krylov: the salary cap rule will change in the KHL

MOSCOW, April 5, Andrey Senchenko. In the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) the salary cap rule will change, Alexander Krylov, chairman of the board of directors of Avangard Omsk, said. The board of directors of the league has decided to limit the amount of team bonuses that are not included in the salary cap. From the 2022/23 season, teams that take places from the second to the fourth will be granted a discount on team bonuses not included in the ceiling: up to 150 million rubles for the second place, up to 75 million rubles for the third and fourth places. For the KHL champion, the team bonus benefits remain unlimited.

"The salary gender remains the same, but the ceiling is changing: now there are not four clubs outside the ceiling, but only one — the champion. All the rest will be limited", – said Krylov following the meeting of the Board of Directors of the KHL.

“For the “Vanguard” the situation is changing only in the sense that the club is finally returning to his home. This is the main thing. for Avangard, everything remains the same — our task is to be the champion, the leader of the KHL championship. As for the costs of the new arena, the construction budget was allocated, and it has not changed. This is very pleasing. The club agreed on all agreements on time and withstood all price changes within the framework of the sanctions. The team will move to Omsk in the summer, I have no doubts about this. As for the club's budget, it will be approved by the board of directors at the end of the season,» Krylov added.
