SIMFEROPOL, April 6 Crimean leader Sergei Aksenov called the death of LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky an irreparable loss, noting that many of his predictions have become real prophecies, this applies to the fate of Crimea and Ukraine. Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin said that Zhirinovsky passed away after a serious and prolonged illness.
"Many political forecasts of Vladimir Volfovich became real prophecies . This concerns the fate of Crimea, Ukraine, and many geopolitical processes. Zhirinovsky strongly supported the Crimean Spring, did a lot to implement important initiatives for our republic", Aksenov wrote in his Telegram channel.
He expressed his condolences to the family and friends of Vladimir Volfovich, his colleagues and fellow party members, adding that he shares their grief. «One of the brightest and most extraordinary politicians in Russia, Vladimir Volfovich Zhirinovsky, has died. An outstanding professional, an intellectual and versatile gifted and perspicacious person, he was a brave and decisive person,» wrote the head of the Crimean government, Yuri Gotsanyuk, in his Telegram channel. According to him, Zhirinovsky firmly defended his position and beliefs in the State Duma, in the media, and at various discussion platforms. «As a creatively gifted person, he masterfully mastered the word, was a brilliant polemicist. Knowledge of history, understanding of the logic of socio-political processes and patterns allowed him to make surprisingly accurate forecasts,» Gotsanyuk emphasized. He recalled that after the collapse of the USSR, Zhirinovsky called on the Ukrainian authorities to referendums and return Crimea and the southeastern territories of the country to Russia. Gotsanyuk also expressed condolences to Zhirinovsky's family and friends.
