EU approves new package of sanctions against Russia

The fifth package of sanctions against the Russian Federation consists of six parts.

According to her, the fifth package of sanctions against the Russian Federation consists of six parts. Among them:

  • The EU bans the import of Russian coal, which will cost Russia 4 billion euros annually. EU member states are introducing a ban on transactions with the four largest Russian banks, among which will be VTB Bank. In total, they account for 23% of the Russian market.
  • The EU imposes a ban on Russian ships and operators enter the ports of the bloc countries.The exceptions are agricultural products and food, humanitarian and energy cargo.
  • The European Union prohibits the work of Russian and Belarusian transport operators, which will leave the Russian industry of key goods.
  • Countries The EU expands ban on exports to Russia. The list includes such items as quantum computers, high-tech semiconductors, transport components, etc.
  • EU refuses imports from the Russian Federation of a number of goods and raw materials, in particular timber, seeds, seafood and alcohol. This will cost Russia another 5.5 billion euros.
  • Prohibits Russian companies from participating in European public procurement and deprives Russian public institutions of financial support from the EU.
