MOSCOW, Apr 5 Former head of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Michel Platini has filed a lawsuit against FIFA President Gianni Infantino, according to the Associated Press. Platini's lawyers claim that Infantino, who left the position of UEFA Secretary General in 2016, «peddled influence», and Marco Villiger, who served as FIFA's legal director until 2018 was his accomplice. Platini asked the French prosecutors to interrogate Infantino, Villiger, former Swiss Attorney General Michael Lauber and three other people in Switzerland. It is noted that the lawsuit was filed on November 17, two weeks after Platini and ex-Fifa head Joseph Blatter were charged in a fraud case. Platini headed UEFA from 2007 to 2015 and was removed from his post in connection with an investigation into corruption in FIFA. The arbitration chamber of the FIFA ethics committee in December 2015 suspended the functionary from football for eight years. Platini's ban was later reduced to four years.
