President Vladimir Putin will meet the Russian athletes who won gold medals at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, presumably on April 26, three sources familiar with the situation said. Earlier, President of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) Viktor Maigurov said at a press conference at the MIA «Russia Today» that on April 26 Olympic athletes will meet with members of the Russian government, possibly with presidential aide Igor Levitin and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
"Olympic gold medalists will meet with the president, presumably on 26 April", — said the interlocutors of the agency.
The Russian team at the 2022 Games won 32 medals (6 gold, 12 silver and 14 bronze) and took ninth place in the unofficial medal standings. In terms of the total number of awards, the Russians came second and showed the best result in the history of performances at the Winter Games.
