"I do not think that biological men should participate in women's sports competitions. Perhaps this is a controversial thing. But it seems to me that this is reasonable", — Johnson is quoted by Reuters.
«I also believe that women should have their own places. Whether it be in hospitals, prisons or locker rooms that are reserved only for them,» — the Prime Minister added. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) introduced a new concept of gender identity and gender difference following the Tokyo Olympics, where New Zealand weightlifter Laurel Hubbard became the first transgender person in the history of the Games. Also in Tokyo, Canadian soccer player Rebecca Quinn became the first transgender person to win an Olympic medal.
