It is clarified that the measure does not apply to participants who do not live in Russia or Belarus, however, they will not be able to compete under the flags of these countries. «We believe that running is a global sport, and therefore we must do our best to express our support to the people of Ukraine,» said the executive director of the association Tom Grilk. The association said that, subject to sanctions restrictions, it will attempt to refund fees to athletes who were denied participation. Russian and Belarusian flags will not be recognized at association events «until further notice».
