Thus, the law «On Measures to Influence Persons Involved in Violations of Fundamental Human Rights and Freedoms, the Rights and Freedoms of Citizens of the Russian Federation» is supplemented by an article giving the Prosecutor General or his deputies the authority to decide on a ban on Russian activities of foreign media in the event of hostile decisions regarding Russian media abroad, in particular, we are talking about restricting (banning) their activities. «Thus, the goal of introducing a prompt, symmetrical response to unfriendly actions against the Russian media is achieved,» the explanatory note specifies. Also, an article is introduced into the law on information on the restriction by the Prosecutor General or his deputies of access to information resources for the repeated dissemination of prohibited or illegal information . In addition, a new type of information is illegal, dangerous to society and the state, in particular, discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, calling for the imposition of sanctions against the Russian Federation, its citizens, as well as Russian legal entities. or his deputies the exclusive right to invalidate the registration of the media and to terminate the license for television and radio broadcasting in the event that the facts of dissemination by these media of illegal, dangerous, inaccurate socially significant information or information expressing clear disrespect for society, the state, the constitution of the Russian Federation, as well as aimed at discrediting the use of the RF Armed Forces, related to the imposition by foreign states of political, economic and (or) other sanctions against Russia, its citizens or legal entities. The corresponding decision is sent to Roskomnadzor. In addition, in accordance with the bill, a foreign journalist may lose his accreditation if it is established that there are manifestations of unfriendly actions, restrictions are imposed on the distribution of Russian media working abroad.
