Ukrainian President Volodymyr ZelenskyNEW DELHI, Apr 9 India, China and Turkey could become Ukrainian security guarantors, Volodymyr Zelensky believes.
"At the moment, we are interested in security guarantors. And among the guarantors of security, we see leading countries that can provide us with some kind of security guarantees. Unfortunately, we have not had them in the past, but I am sure that they will be in the future. The United States, Great Britain, Poland, Germany, France can be among the guarantors of security, and we offer China to become a guarantor of security,» Zelensky said in an interview with the Indian TV channel Republic.
«We also offer Turkey as a guarantor of security. And I think that India, if there is a desire to join the list of guarantors of Ukraine's security, then, of course, we will be happy to invite India, because India is a very powerful state,» he added. Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Moscow was for providing security guarantees to Russia, Ukraine and all European countries «in accordance with those documents that have been adopted for many years within the framework of the OSCE and which proclaimed the principle that no country will strengthen its security at the expense of the security of others.» Lavrov also stated that Russia proposed that Belarus be one of the guarantor countries of the future Russian-Ukrainian treaty, now all questions are including the composition of the guarantor countries, are being agreed.
