Europe is not aware of the consequences of the war, Ukrainian President believes.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized the EU that only in the sixth package of sanctions did discussions begin on the oil embargo. According to him, this indicates that the world does not realize what kind of war Russia was preparing for.
The statement of the head of state was made during an appeal to the Lithuanian Parliament .
«If only for the sixth package of sanctions they began to seriously discuss oil, then the world does not realize what kind of war Russia was preparing for. If there is still no clear certainty regarding Russian gas, then there can be no certainty that there is a common will in Europe to stop Russian war crimes in order to force Russia to peace. If there are large European companies and large European banks that, even at the height of hostilities in Ukraine, do not consider it necessary to leave the Russian market, then this means that all other companies will take this as a signal to «wait», and then it will be possible to work», — Zelensky noted.
