Archival photoSIMFEROPOL, April 14 The construction of a new city in the Kherson region of Ukraine, which the Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly stated, turned out to be a fiction in practice, said the head of the regional national-cultural autonomy of the Crimean Tatars, Eyvaz Umerov.

"Everyone remembers the story when, since 2015, the Ukrainian authorities and their henchmen represented by the fugitive leaders of the extremist organization banned in Russia "Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people"* talked about the construction of a city in the Kherson region for internally displaced persons from Crimea. They promised to build hundreds of apartments and private houses and distribute them free of charge to everyone who did not want to live in the Russian Crimea. Seven years have passed, and the city is gone. Those who left their homeland live in rented housing, dormitories. The construction of the city turned out to be a fiction and a lie", Umerov wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to him, Turkey should have allocated money for the construction of the city. «Money from the Turks was received and considerable for this project. The guarantor of the development was the People's Deputy of Ukraine, protege of the Mejlis Rustem Umerov. The President of Turkey allocated several tens of millions of dollars to solve the everyday problems of the Crimean Tatars in Ukraine, however, in return for this, the Mejlis members provided themselves with elite apartments in Kyiv. So, once again, millions of dollars allocated for the people served a well-fed life and personal comfort for cowards and fugitives,» Umerov emphasized. Russian troops during a special operation to demilitarize Ukraine took control of the entire Kherson region in the south of the country. Later, military-civilian administrations began to form in the Kherson region and in the south of the Zaporozhye region, the process of broadcasting Russian television and radio broadcasting was launched, and the population began to use Russian rubles more widely in settlements. Crimea became a Russian region in March 2014 following a referendum after a coup in Ukraine. In the referendum, 96.77% of voters in Crimea and 95.6% in Sevastopol voted for joining Russia. Ukraine still considers Crimea its own, but temporarily occupied territory, many Western countries support Kyiv in this. The Russian leadership has repeatedly stated that the inhabitants of Crimea democratically, in full accordance with international law and the UN Charter, voted for reunification with Russia. According to President Vladimir Putin, the issue of Crimea is «finally closed».* An extremist organization banned on the territory of Russia. France Le Pen visit Crimea
