Hundreds of students gathered on Thursday at the historic university building in the Latin Quarter. Under the slogan «neither Macron nor Le Pen» they are protesting against the voting results in the first round of elections. Police officers installed metal fences in front of the building.

According to the final data of the French Ministry of the Interior, the current president of the country Emmanuel Macron won 27.84% of the vote, the leader of the far-right National Rally party Marine Le Pen — 23.15%. The second round will take place on April 24.
