MOSCOW, 14 Apr. The Russian Chess Federation (RCF) at an absentee meeting of the Supervisory Board decided to join the Asian Chess Federation, according to the CRF website. The decision was unanimous. Earlier, the European Chess Union announced the temporary suspension of the Russian Chess Federation and the Belarusian Chess Federation exclusion of the national teams of these countries from all tournaments under the auspices of the organization. Russians and Belarusians were allowed to play under the flag of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) or another national federation. FIDE suspended the teams of Russia and Belarus from participating in their tournaments until further notice, representatives of these countries can play under the FIDE flag in individual tournaments.
