MOSCOW, Apr 15 The International Skating Union (ISU) will temporarily deprive Russia and Belarus has the right to host international competitions due to the situation in Ukraine in case of obtaining approval from the national federations of other countries, Match TV reports with reference to the ISU letter sent to the national federations. If approval is received, the Russian stage of the Grand Prix series of the season -2022/23 will not be included in the calendar. In addition, on March 31, representatives of 21 national federations demanded that ISU prevent Russians and Belarusians from participating in the next congress of the organization, scheduled for June. The federations also propose to prohibit representatives of Russia and Belarus from nominating their candidacies for any elective positions within the upcoming congress. The response of the national federations on both questions must be received by April 18, their comments will be studied at the ISU Council meeting on April 24.
