People in Sweden and Finland are in favor of joining NATO.
Accession Finland and Sweden to NATO will strengthen the security of the Baltic countries and strengthen the Western military alliance. This opinion was voiced by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda and urged them not to delay filing an application, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to Channel 24.
It is known that Russia threatened to increase its military presence in the Baltic region, also deploy nuclear weapons if Sweden and Finland join NATO.
Gitanas Nausėda rejects these claims by the aggressor country. According to him, Moscow has stored such weapons in its Kaliningrad exclave for many years, and that Finland and Sweden are only responding to Russian aggression.
