MOSCOW, 16 Apr. Eating soup every day is possible if a person does not have acute gastrointestinal diseases that require a sparing diet, said gastroenterologist Natalya Shustova. According to the doctor, a traditional soup cooked on «strong» meat or fish broths with various vegetables and cereals , may be contraindicated in acute gastrointestinal diseases. If a person is diagnosed with gastritis, pancreatitis or peptic ulcer, this dish should be excluded from the diet.
"Such dishes stimulate the production of hydrochloric acid. In case of problems with the gastrointestinal tract, it must, on the contrary, be reduced. This keeps the inflammation from getting worse. In this case, it is better to replace traditional soups with vegetable ones prepared without preliminary frying. Such dishes are considered dietary, as they are rich in fiber. They can be recommended as a healthy diet during weight loss or treatment. To increase the nutritional value of vegetable soup, you can add legumes", the gastroenterologist said.
The specialist also recommends draining the first broth when preparing soup. This will help make the dish less greasy and eliminate the content of antibiotics inherited from meat.
