MOSCOW, Apr 19 Ak Bars Kazan announced on Twitter the appointment of Oleg Znarok as the head coach of the team. The video shows the arrival of a specialist at the team's base, where the coach gets acquainted with the club's staff. Earlier, the club hinted at the appointment of Znarok by publishing a fragment from the seventh part of the Star Wars movie saga, where one of the heroes allegedly stands opposite three Gagarin Cups. Znarok won the Gagarin Cup three times: twice with Dynamo Moscow (2012, 2013) and once with Petersburg SKA (2017). His last club was Spartak Moscow, which he managed from 2019 to 2021. Then the 59-year-old specialist became a coach-consultant for the Russian youth team. Under the leadership of Znark, the Russian team became the 2014 World Champion and won gold medals at the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang.
