Waste sorting is a global eco-trend of the last few years. And Poland is no exception. Since the middle of 2017, waste has been sorted in the country, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to Channel 24.
Ukrainians have also been familiar with the principles of sorting for more than a year, but we decided to prepare a small cheat sheet that will help it is more efficient to separate waste into colored containers in Poland. Often, even far from all Poles know how to do it correctly.

8 basic rules for waste sorting in Poland
Hazardous waste — batteries, accumulators, medicines, light bulbs, chemicals, and electronic devices — must not be thrown into garbage cans. They are accepted by some shops, pharmacies and public waste collection points (PSZOK, Punkt Selektywnego Zbierania Odpadów Komunalnych).
There is no need to wash the dishes and packaging — they do it at the factory.
The urn for glass is not intended for ceramics and porcelain.
Package that is covered with paper on the outside and aluminum on the inside foil, such as milk or juice, should be thrown into the yellow bin.
The lids should be removed and thrown into the same bin as the bottles. Do not throw away bottles with liquid inside.
The blue tank is designed for clean paper packaging and cardboard, newspapers, notebooks or books. Do not throw away used paper towels and napkins, dirty paper, wallpaper, diapers and other hygiene products.
brown biowaste tank should not be thrown away bones, edible oil, ashes, earth and stones, pet waste. This bin is only for food waste, as well as leaves, flowers, twigs and wood.
Everything that is not suitable for colored bins should be thrown into gray bins .
