Referee Pustovoitova was not allowed to the European Women's Championship


MOSCOW, April 19 Russian referee Anastasia Pustovoitova was not included in the list of judges on Women's European Football Championship, according to the website of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). In January, Pustovoitova, Sergey Karasev, Kirill Levnikov and 37 other Russian referees were included in the list of the International Football Federation (FIFA) for 2022. The European Championship will be held 6-31 July in England. The reigning champions are the Netherlands. In total, the tournament will be served by 12 referees from Europe, including Frenchwoman Stephanie Frappart and Ukrainian Ekaterina Monzul. In 2021, Pustovoitova refereeed the final of the Olympic Games, became the first female referee to play the match of the Football National League, worked in the semi-finals of the Women's Champions League. Previously, FIFA and UEFA published a joint statement, according to which Russian teams and clubs are suspended from participation in all international competitions for an indefinite period. The Russian Football Union (RFU) filed appeals with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the decisions of FIFA and UEFA. The court denied the RFU's request for an expedited review of the case, and later — the request for the suspension of interim measures in the case of UEFA and FIFA. It was noted that the sanctions do not apply to match officials, including referees, however, at present, referees from Russia will not be appointed to the games of tournaments under the auspices of UEFA.
