Senator Alexei Pushkov criticized in Telegram President Maia Sandu's sharp statement about the St. George ribbon and its ban in the country. Earlier, Sandu said that she had signed a law banning the use of the St. George ribbon, noting that this would not interfere with honoring the memory of the fallen heroes and would not affect the celebration of Victory Day. She believes that «the place of such symbols is in the trash can of history,» since Moldova is a neutral country. The member of the Federation Council reminded the Moldovan politician of the unenviable fate of the opponents of the St. George ribbon. «As for the essence of the law that Sandu approved, as well as her statements about » criminality» of the St. George ribbon and the «trash bin of history», then she should be reminded that many enemies of the St. George ribbon have already ended up in this bucket,» Pushkov said.
