Earlier, the CEC announced that it was waiting for the decision of the Supreme Court on the complaint of voters demanding the postponement of the second round of the presidential election. «The Supreme Court canceled the election date. We are waiting for the court's decision. A new date will be set soon,» Avlokhova said. The statement of voters, which RIA Novosti has at its disposal, says that the scheduled election date for Thursday, April 28, is contrary to the law, because it violates the electoral rights of citizens South Ossetia living outside the republic.In South Ossetia, they promised not to live at the expense of Russian taxpayers. Earlier, a representative of Bibilov's headquarters told RIA Novosti that their candidate plans to challenge the date of the presidential election in the Supreme Court, since it falls on a working day — Thursday, since a significant part of the voters who are outside of South Ossetia — in Russia and Abkhazia, will be deprived of their rights. Later, Bibilov's press service stated that he did not plan to challenge the date of the second round of the presidential elections in the Supreme Court. The presidential elections were held on April 10. By law, the second round must take place in 15 days. But since the elections cannot be called on a holiday, the CEC decided to hold them on April 28, Thursday. The leader of the opposition Nykhas party Alan Gagloev won 38.55% of the vote (10,707 people), Anatoly Bibilov — 34.95% ( 9,706 people). 29,057 citizens of South Ossetia took part in the voting — this is 73.97% of voters.
