More than 300 Russian officers died during the invasion of Ukraine

During the 60 days of the war with Ukraine, the Russian army lost at least 317 officers on the battlefield, a third of them are senior officers in the rank of major. This conclusion was reached by Mediazona, having studied together with a team of volunteers more than 1,700 publications about the death of Russian soldiers in the media and social networks.

Russia has officially confirmed the death of two deputy army commanders — Major General Andrey Sukhovetsky and Major General Vladimir Frolov from the 8th Army. In addition, the Deputy Commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Captain 1st Rank Andrei Paly, died near Mariupol.

Among the rest of the dead officers are commanders of various levels in the formations of the airborne troops, who suffered heavy losses near Kyiv, as well as two dozen pilots.
