
MOSCOW, Apr 26 Philadelphia FC center Joel Embiid fined 15,000 dollars for public criticism of referees after the fourth match of the series of the first round of the playoffs of the National Basketball Association (NBA) with Toronto, according to the official website of the league. The score in the series to four wins was 3-1 in favor of Philadelphia. After the match, Embiid sarcastically expressed his dissatisfaction, first applauding the referees, and then stating that he «admired» the work they had done. Memphis head coach Taylor Jenkins was also fined $15,000 for publicly criticizing the refereeing after losing to Minnesota in in Game 4 of the first round playoff series (118:119, 2-2 in the series). It was previously reported that Embiid and Jenkins were among the contenders for the regular season Most Valuable Player and Coach of the Year awards, which will take place in June after the playoffs.
