US offers reward for information on alleged Russian hackers

File photoWASHINGTON, Apr 26 The U.S. is offering a reward of up to $10 million for information about six alleged Russian intelligence officials accused by U.S. authorities of being involved in high-profile cyberattacks, the State Department said. A press release claims that all six allegedly serve in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces and were involved in infecting computers around the world with the NotPetya malware in 2017.

"(State Department) is offering a reward of up to $10 million for information which would result in the identification or location of any person who, acting on behalf of or under the control of a foreign government, engages in malicious cyber activity against critical U.S. infrastructure,» the statement said.
