Gas stations allowed to increase the markup on fuel: what will happen to prices

Fuel prices will continue to rise until 2024.

In order to prevent a shortage of fuel, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has increased the trade surcharge for gasoline and diesel fuel, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to TSN.

This was announced by the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnichuk.

The maximum level of trade markup for the average cost of 1 liter.

  • diesel fuel increased from 5 to 7 hryvnia including VAT (by 40%) ,
  • gasoline from UAH 4.55 to 6.50 including VAT (by 42.8%).

Average prices in Ukraine as of April 29, 2022 were^ for A-95 gasoline UAH 34.77, A-92 gasoline — UAH 34.01, diesel fuel — UAH 39.24. UAH Taking into account the marginal surcharges, the cost of A-35 gasoline should not exceed UAH 41.27, A-92 gasoline — UAH 40.51, diesel fuel — UAH 46.24.

In the future, fuel prices will rise up to 2024. Such a forecast was made at the World Bank. During this year, according to World Bank forecasts, the cost of energy carriers will grow by more than 50%, prices will stabilize only during 2023-2024.
