Ukraine at Eurovision: how they meet KALUSH Orchestra

The song with which KALUSH Orchestra went to Eurovision has already begun to be called prophetic.

The Ukrainian team KALUSH Orchestra has already arrived in Turin, where the international Eurovision Song Contest 2022 will be held. The first rehearsal and acquaintance with participants from other countries have already passed, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to RBC-Ukraine.

How the Ukrainians were received in Turin and how they show their support for our country, said the leader of KALUSH Oleg Psyuk and the head of the delegation Oksana Skibinska on the air of the telethon.

«Stefaniya» called a prophetic song

As Oleg Psyuk notes, the song with which KALUSH Orchestra went to Eurovision has already begun to be called prophetic.

«The song is dedicated to my mother. Many people today yearn for their mothers or perceive it as «Ukraine is my mother», so this song has now become close to them, right in the hearts of many Ukrainians. Many say that this song seems to be prophetic and very relevant, because of the line «Breaking roads I will come to you»… It is clear why it is so popular now in Ukraine. I hope that it will become popular among Europeans too», — shared Psyuk.

He added that now he gives 10-15 interviews a day, including to major world media. He talks not only about Eurovision, but also about the situation in the country, calls to actively help Ukraine.

And regarding the performance at Eurovision, the leader of KALUSH says this: «We have a very important goal — to make Ukrainian music popular not only in Ukraine, but all over the world».

The first rehearsal in Turin

The first rehearsal of the Ukrainian group took place on April 30, and tomorrow (May 4) the second one is expected — on stage in the Arena. The Ukrainian delegation arrived one of the very first in Turin, as the performance of the KALUSH Orchestra was at the beginning of the first semi-final. Now all the delegations have arrived.

Ukraine is supported by everyone around

As Oksana Skibinska said, Eurovision participants support Ukraine with yellow-blue ribbons on their clothes.

«Many people come up, communicate , expresses its support for Ukraine, people tie yellow and blue ribbons to support Ukraine», — Skibinskaya said.

And Oleg Psyuk added that before the trip to Turin, the group held a promotional tour. In Spain, people have already learned the first lines of the song.

«People have already learned well the first line of the chorus, where the words are international: «Stefani, mamo, mamo Stefania» and this part was even sung at times louder than us»,— said the leader of KALUSH.

The first semi-final of Eurovision 2022 will take place in Turin on May 10th. KALUSH Orchestra with the song «Stefania» will perform at number 6. The broadcast can be watched on the UA:Culture TV channel and on the platforms «Suspіlne movlennya».
