File photoLONDON, May 8UK imposes new package of sanctions on Russia and Belarus due to actions in Ukraine, import duties and an export ban will affect goods worth 1.7 billion pounds, follows from UK Department of International Trade statement. The new import duties will affect £1.4 billion worth of goods, including platinum and palladium. The duty will be 35%. In addition, the planned export ban will affect goods worth 250 million pounds, including chemicals, plastics, rubber and machinery. This is about 10% of all British exports to Russia in 2021. This is the third package of UK trade sanctions against Russia. Excluding gold and energy resources, about 96% of imports from Russia to the UK are currently under restrictive measures.
